VIVA USA Inc. was chosen as the winner of the 2007 MED Week Midwest Regional IT Firm of the Year. VIVA’s president Ms. Vasanthi Ilangovan accepted the award at a gala in downtown Chicago on Friday, August 24, 2007. This award is instituted by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the only federal wing of the Department of Commerce that assists with the establishment of minority businesses across the nation. The awardees are outstanding minority entrepreneurs and business advocates who have carved a niche in their respective fields. MBDA Chicago, through a rigorous screening process, picked VIVA as the winner for having accomplished commendable work in the sphere of Information Technology Services in the US Midwest area. MBDA is a national network with regional affiliates located in areas with large minority population and businesses. They not only fund but also conduct various activities and programs to help grow and promote large, medium and small minority businesses. It also facilitates strategic alliances between public, private sectors and small minority businesses across the nation.
